August 4th. 2005  Some members now using the system cannot always easily find their Host's location. Often a map alone is insufficient. STAYdontPAY.net has taken this on board and is currently working on enhancements which will allow each member to provide their own local directions to explain the "hole in the hedge" or "where they are in relation to the Post Office" etc..

July 30th. 2005  So what do the members have to say so far?

July 11th. 2005  A number of members have participated in the early testing of the software systems. As a result we have been asked if it is possible to add two new features to the http://www.staydontpay.net web site. In order to demonstrate our commitment to provide exactly what members require, these enhancements are now in place.

          -  Hosts will be informed of the purpose of their guest's visit (See Stop Over Request form).

          - A map of where the members are situated is now available on the We Site members area and this will be updated from time to time.

July 1st. 2005  We have enjoyed the process of enrolling members. We have spoken to a delightful group of enthusiastic people who without exception want to make the network a success for all to enjoy. We are pleased to be able to inform you that we now have over 200 members scattered across UK and Ireland . We are therefore now able to announce our Public Launch which will take place on Saturday July 9th. 2005.

We have already organised a number of stop overs to test the systems and obtain feedback from members. We are very excited with the reaction from those members who have used the STAYdontPAY system they have all really enjoyed themselves. Having tried and tested STAYdontPAY.net they now want to do even more traveling.

We are progressing with the new member visiting and if and when this has been completed we extend a very warm welcome to you as a full member of STAYdontPAY.net

June 20th 2005  Don't think nothing is happening at STAYdontPAY.net because in the background there is frantic activity preparing for our Launch. W are currently following up the many membership enquiries which we have received from our media coverage. This involves a personal call to each and every one. We take great care to chat with our potential new members to make certain that everyone enjoys their STAYdontPAY stop over. We are also currently arranging visits to all of our new members. Again, it is very important to us - we want to know our members. We are also collecting together the data obtained from membership applications, our survey and our conversations with new members. We are now building up a clearer picture of our target membership and what it expects from STAYdontPAY.net. We have also started to accept a few member stop over requests to test the software systems and check that members are happy with our procedures. A number of members have already enjoyed trips away from home meeting new people and with the added bonus of no accommodation charges.

May 22nd 2005     STAYdontPAY.net is featured as a news item in the Sunday Times Travel Section 'BED-HOPPING' - (we didn't choose the leader!) - but the news item gave a super snapshot of the network. The Web Site has been very busy and we have received lots of membership enquiries as a result.

May 17th. 2005     STAYdontPAY.net is featured on the Radio 2 Steve Wright Show - Web Site of the Day with Miles Mendoza. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/wright/wotd.shtml  Steve Wright persuades his listeners to go shopping in Uxbridge with STAYdontPAY.net! - but not just Uxbridge!

03/05/2004             This Web Site is powered by Dbase a relational database software language which has been a leader in the field since the sixties. The success of the language owes much to the international Dbase user groups  and those commercial applications deployed in both large and small business around the globe. Mike Walsh has proved how versatile and internet friendly Dbase really is. Frazer Spence wrote the supporting Dbase Windows booking system software and would like to express his sincere thanks to Paul Franks  http://www.dbase.com/mainpage.htm  and Bob Rimmington the mastermind of the UK Dbase User Club (http://www.ukdbasegroup.org.uk) without their help and support this project would never have seen the light of day!

01/05/2004             The basic design of the Web Site is now finished. The site is under going "optimisation" prior to submission to search engines. Our designers are considering the creation of a brochure for those members not using the Web Site and who will be using more traditional ways of maintaining contact with STAYdontPAY.net

25/04/2004 Initial testing now complete STAYdontPAY.net  is now a reality!

02/04/2004     STAYdontPAY.net  went live on the World Wide Web on Monday April 5th. 2004 for the very first time. The brand new software systems will be undergoing pilot testing during the first few weeks and we will be learning more about how our members would like to use STAYdontPAY. We are committed to providing the total support that our members expect and will be adapting to their requirements during our formative period prior to a full public launch later in the year.

02/03/2004     STAYdontPAY.net is undergoing final system development prior to going live later in 2004. We are very excited by the prospect of providing so many new opportunities for our members in the years ahead. We believe many people will totally re-think the meaning of bed and breakfast and short break holidays - we intend helping them do just that!

Innovation creates motivation!
